Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana: Delhi Finance minister Atishi on Monday announced the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ for the women in Delhi while announcing the Delhi Budget. Atishi revealed the scheme during her first budget speech, presenting the budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year in the Delhi Assembly. The budget, amounting to Rs 76,000 crore, reflects the government’s commitment to achieving the vision of ‘Ram Rajya’.

What is Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana?

Rs 1,000 will be given monthly to all women aged above 18 from the fiscal year 2024-25.

“Under this scheme, every woman above the age of 18 will be eligible to receive an honorarium of Rs 1,000 per month. So, whether she is a daughter studying in college needing extra books, a daughter preparing for a government job needing coaching, or a woman wishing to watch a movie in a cinema hall, now they will not have to ask for money from anyone for their expenses because their brother Arvind Kejriwal will provide them with Rs 1,000 every month,” she added.

Who is eligible for this Scheme?

The government has included three riders in the scheme. Taxpayers, women who get pension and those who hold government jobs will be excluded from this aid.

  • If you are a school or college student, you are eligible to get Rs 1,000 per month.
  • If you have a job but the income is not taxable, you are eligible. This will include women who work in the unorganised sector.
  • Homemakers who do not have access to government pension are also eligible.
